FG appoints Mohammed interim MD/CEO of BoA



ABUJA- THE Federal Government yesterday, appointed Kabiru Mohammed as interim Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer, Bank of Agriculture, BoA, along with four executive directors.
This was contained in a statement released by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, which said the appointments were made by President Muhammadu Buhari in a bid to reposition the bank for better performance in terms of farmers’ access to finance and transform the sector.
The statement reads in part: “To achieve the vision of this Administration to transform the agricultural sector and in particular to ensure easy access to agricultural funds which is needed to boost farming, His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) has approved the appointment of an interim Managing Director / CEO and Executive Directors for the Bank of Agriculture ( BoA ).
“The list of the appointment are as follows; Kabiru Mohammed, Interim Managing Director / CEO, from North West, while the executive directors are Prince Akenzua, Corporate Finance, from South-South, Dr Okenwa Gabriel, Partnerships and Strategy, from South East, Ameh Owoicho, Credit and Empowerment, from North Central, and Bode Abikoye, Credit and Empowerment, from South West.
According to the statement the appointments were as a result of the Federal Government's determination to reposition BoA to be a more efficient and result oriented institution.

The strategic repositioning of BoA will enhance farmers easy accessibility to agricultural funds that will be profitable for large and local farmers hoping to expand their farms. Availability of funds will no doubt increase production which will eventually result in self sufficiency .
