Lokoja - Senator Smart Adeyemi has commended Kogi state government for the rice mill project at Omi dam, in Yagba East LGA of the State, said the laudable project will reduce unemployment and youth restiveness in the state.

The former senator of the district who made this known in a statement issued yesterday in Lokoja and made available to newsmen also eulogised the APC led Federal Government for turning attention to the area especially for awarding the Egbe - Lokoja road.

Adeyemi said the State government partnering with Agric Integrated Africa Services Limited to build a 50 tonnes Rice Processing Mill in Omi was a welcome development.

He said, "The agricultural revolution by the governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello will go along way in improving the economy of the state and the nation in general. The rice mill project will definitely reduced youth restiveness. The efforts of the governor to embark on such project will place the state as one of the rice producing state in the country.

"The new direction blueprint of the governor to promote Public Private Partnership Initiatives in the state, will definitely create job opportunities for the teaming youths to be gainfully employed and also boost the revenue base of the state. The rice mill Project when completed will feed the nation as government is committed to create an enabling environment for the much needed agricultural revolution. The rice mill will make Kogi number one agricultural state in the federation."

Adeyemi while commending the state government for welcoming genuine investors in the agricultural sector also commended President Muhammadu Buhari for awarding the construction of Kabba-Egbe road, adding that the road project when completed will bring back economy life in most of the communities along the road.

He therefore charged people of the state to support the administration of governor Yahaya Bello so that he can deliver more dividend of democracy to the people.
