TARABA GREEN HOUSE TO COMMENCE NATION WIDE SELLS OF FRUITS, VEGETABLES.


The Fruits and Vegetables earlier planted at Green House which was constructed by Taraba state government located in Jalingo Taraba state capital is set to commence distribution and sells of its products in Lagos, Kano, Abuja, Port Harcourt and other major cities in Nigeria.
ate government has engaged the services of OverLand Nigeria Limited, an Air Line company to start the transportation of the fresh farm products to Abuja and Lagos.

The governor assured the people from the state who were into the business of selling fresh farm products of adequate products at the Green House, he said the first point of take off was the people in various markets of the state.

This was disclosed by the governor of Taraba state Darius Ishaku while speaking to journalist at the site of the project.

Governor Ishaku who was at the Green House to inspect the project said arrangements have been concluded to supply varieties of all kinds of fruits and vegetables that were planted at the green house to major cities in Nigeria to burst the internal generated revenue of the state.

He said the st OverLand, they have agreed to give us a Cargo which we planed to lift at least a one Tone of the products to drop in Abuja and Lagos, we also want to creat much awareness about the products for the whole nation to know that we are capable of supplying a large quantity of fruits and vegetables at Green House here in Taraba state"


Vanguard check at the Green House review that fruits such as Tomatoes, Pepper, Lettuce and Cucumber were ready for consumption, it was also review that deferent varieties of vegetables were ready for consumption.

10,000 women farmers to be engaged in ECOWAS rice project – official

 Mr Richard Olafare, the President, Seed Entrepreneurs Association of Nigeria (SEEDAN) says 10,000 women will be engaged in the recently inaugurated Rice Seed Up-Scaling Project. This is contained in a presentation on the project made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Friday. Olafare said 8,000 youths would also be engaged in the scaling project. According to him, the number of women and youths represented 50 per cent and 40 per cent respectively of the 20,000 farmers that will participate in the project. NAN reports that the project is an initiative of the West Africa Seed Programme (WASP) in support of the ECOWAS Rice Offensive Programme that was inaugurated in 2014. Among other objectives, it is targeting the production of 60,000 metric tonnes of paddy rice for Nigeria by December 2017, using 1,200 certified seeds.
