Kebbi Govt. to collaborate with Niger, Benin Republics to promote agriculture


The Kebbi Government has promised to collaborate with Niger and Benin republics to promote agricultural, economic, cultural and political relationship.
Gov. Atiku Bagudu made the pledge on Monday in Birnin Kebbi when he received a delegation of farmers, traders and livestock breeders from Dosso state in Niger republic.
The delegation, led by Isah Ibrahim, was in the state to explore areas of collaboration in agriculture, especially poultry and livestock and rice farming.
He said he would spearhead the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the state and the neighbouring countries.
He said he would introduce a policy on education that would enable students from the state and neighbouring countries exchange visits to share knowledge and improve relationship among youths.
He said the collaboration was aimed at improving cross country relationship and boost economic development in the west African region.
The leader of the delegation from Dosso state in Niger republic, Isah Ibrahim, said the visit would enable farmers and traders acquire more knowledge and skills to boost rice production and poultry farming.
He promised that the exchange visit would be sustained to improve social, economic, agricultural and cultural relationship between Kebbi and Niger.
