FG, IFAD commend Benue govt. for supporting chain development scheme

Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and International Food for Agricultural Development (IFAD) have commended the Benue Government for its cooperation during the execution of Value Chain Development Programme (VCDP).
The agencies made the commendation in a letter to Gov. Samuel Ortom and the Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources; signed by VCDP National Coordinator, Dr Ameh Onoja, and made available to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Makurdi.
In the letter, Onoja attributed the success of the programme in Benue to the support and cooperation of the state government.
Onoja said that the decision to formally appreciate the state was reached at the fourth joint meeting of FG/IFAD Mission in the state.
He attributed the feats recorded by VCDP in the state to the consistent and active participation of the state government in all the field activities of the mission.
“It was clear that the state encouraged VCDP and that cordial relations existed between the two agencies and the state government,’’ he said.

Onoja said that he was optimistic that the robust relationship would be sustained throughout the lifespan of the programme for the overall benefit of farmers, producers, processors and marketers.
