50,000 animals for vaccination in Birninkudu LGA, Jigawa


 No fewer than 50,000 animals had been targeted for vaccination against diseases in Birninkudu Local Government Area of Jigawa during the ongoing 2016 animals vaccination.
The Information Officer of the council, Alhaji Mustafa Namadi, disclosed this in Dutse on Tuesday during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
Namadi said cattle, sheep, and dogs would be vaccinated in Birninkudu, Yalwandamai, Sundumina, Bamaina and Wurno district areas of the council.
He explained that the local government council had made adequate arrangement to ensure the success of the exercise.
The spokesperson quoted Alhaji Hassan Abdulkadir, the Head of Agriculture Department of the council, as saying that 29 ad hoc staff had been recruited to conduct the exercise.
He added that the state government had provided enough vaccines for the smooth conduct of the exercise.
NAN reports that the 2016 animals’ vaccination was launched by the state government in Birniwa Local Government Area on Monday, May 16.
NAN also reports that during the exercise, over 600,000 cattle, sheep, goats and dogs across the 27 Local Government Areas of the state were expected to be vaccinated.
