Jigawa govt. procures N7m vaccines to inoculate animals - Official


 The Jigawa Government has released over N7 million for the procurement of vaccines for the vaccination of animals across the state, an official said on Tuesday.
Malam Wada'u Sulaiman, the Public Relations Officer in the state Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse.
Sulaiman quoted the Director, Veterinary Services in the ministry, Dr Abdullahi Haruna, as giving the indication at a meeting with veterinary officers and sectional heads of livestock in the ministry.
According to Sulaiman, the exercise will be launched in Birniwa Local Government Area of the state soon.
He said during the exercise, cattle, sheep, goats and dogs across the 27 Local Government Areas of the state would be vaccinated against diseases.
Sulaiman said that already, the state government had released over N7 million for the procurement of vaccines and other supporting equipment to ensure the success of the exercise.
He said there would be daily report of number of animals vaccinated, when the exercise commence. (
