Bauchi govt procure 20,000 metric tonnes of fertilizers to farmers

Bauchi-The Bauchi State Government has procured 20,000 metric tonnes of fertilizers for sale to farmers  in all the 20 local government areas of the state for the 2016 farming season.
The State Governor, Mohammed Abubakar who flag off the sale of fertilizers yesterday at jama're local government area of bauchi state,  warned against the diversion of fertilizer this years farming season, pointing out anyone caught will be arrested.
" I am truly pleased with the pace of progress of agricultural development in the sate including dry season farming. We are committed to supporting the farmers in their efforts to raise production and maintain the leading role of the state in Agricultural production in the North-East region,”
 "In this light, a bag of NPK will cost N4,000 while Urea will sale for N4,500.Also, the government has concluded arrangements for farmers in the state to benefit from the federal agricultural finance and borrowers scheme with a view to enhance productivity" Governor Abubakar said
In his address at occasion, the State Commissioner of Agriculture, Yusuf Mamoud said that the state government has identified with the transformation agenda of the federal government, particularly in the area of registration of one million farmers in E-wallet scheme in the state.
He said other areas the state government has given priority in the agricultural sector include crop value chain development,growth enhance ment scheme which will be launched during the course of the year.
