Katsina SSG commends Kebbi Rice production policy, says it is worthy of emulation

The Secretary to the Katsina State Government, Alhaji Mustapha Inuwa, on Tuesday, in Birnin Kebbi, called on other states to emulate Kebbi State on its successful commercial Rice
production.
Inuwa made the call while fielding questions from newsmen in Birnin Kebbi He said Kebbi Government had   demonstrated good political  leadership by supporting the farmers for the success of the commercial Rice production.
"The efforts made in Kebbi was commendable and I call on all Nigerians, especially from this part of the country, to   embrace and support the programme, " he said. He pointed out that unless the country embraced agriculture, self sufficiency and food security in the county could never be achieved.
" We have to encourage farmers and support them to produce to end importation of rice and sugar to save our scarce  foreign reserve. " Previous governments had ignored agriculture, but I am glad that people have
realised that oil is no longer dependable, so we have to go back to agriculture as source of revenue," he added.
Inuwa said that the recent economic summit conducted by Katsina State Government had exposed the state to local and international investors who had shown interest in investing in agriculture, power and mineral resources
