LCCI to partner Brazil on agric equipment manufacture

The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) says it is in talks with the Brazilian Ambassador to Nigeria on how to develop local agricultural equipment in the state.
Mr Adeola Elliot, Chairman, Agriculture Group, LCCI, made this known in an interview  on Friday in Lagos.
Elliot said that the talks became necessary because Brazil had an intermediate technology that was suitable to Nigeria.
``LCCI is in talks with the Brazilian Ambassador and we are looking at bringing the country’s expertise because the country’s equipment is intermediate technology, which we can operate.
``We urgently want to build the local capacity for local development of our equipment,” he said.
He appealed to the Federal Institute of Industrial Research (FIIRO), Oshodi, Lagos, to help in the partnership by providing necessary knowledge on tools and training.
The chamber chairman urged other interest groups to join in the drive to revive the economy through agriculture.
